"NO MAIL, NO RAIL": NATIVE AMERICANS vs. PACT ACT OPPRESSION

ANOTHER U.S. PRESIDENT BETRAYS NATIVE AMERICANS

Evidently the PACT Act passed over a month ago & Obama quickly signed it into law.  I didn't even hear about it until now (prior post from November:
http://theparadisereporter.posterous.com/senate-to-put-native-american-indians-out-of ).

There's a good thread about this current news (article at bottom) & a few pertinent comments from this forum here, dated 4/1-2/10:

"Update.. Obama Breaks Promise.. Betrays All Native Americans.. Signs Pact Act Into Law"

(...)
here in ny state the indians have been battling ny state government for years.. they have fantastic attorneys and never resort to violence.. they have better ways to fight back.. like blockading the ny state thruway and other major roads that run thru their reservations.. this was done some years back and worked very effectively.  a rumour i did hear at the present, is that they are going to put up toll booths on all roads that run thru their land.. as for the railroad lines, that also go thru their land??.. all i know is that their are signs on the railroad overpasses that say, NO MAIL, NO RAIL.
(...)

........vs. ..........

(...)
I currently live in NY it was approaching nanny state status years ago, when I left the state however now it is absolutely disgusting here. Having said that I will return to topic the toll booths on the roads might work however the train lines probably have an ease of way clause that will be difficult to circumvent legally.
(...)

(...)
i will not write what i heard the indians might do concerning the rail lines.. people will have to figure that one out themselves..

(...)

(...)
the signs are still up on the railroad overpasses on the rez.. NO MAIL, NO RAIL.. theres going to be trouble, and its brewing right now.. i talked to a few of my indian friends at the casino tonight, and they advised me to stay off the rez, things are going to get ugly.
(...)

(...)
all major roads, including the ny state thruway, and all railroad lines run smack dab thru the rez.. i know what they can do, because they succeeded a few years ago of blocking the ny state thruway and major roads with overturned tractor trailers and huge tire fires, and these blockades were manned by hundreds of native americans with rifles.. traffic was backed up 45 miles each direction.. the issue at the time was the governor was going to pass a law that would impose taxes on indian tobacco, the law never was signed and the indians won the the battle.
(...)

(...)
learned some new information today from some of my friends at the rez.. native american tribal leaders have been notified by the white house that any action that they might take, such as blockading of roads or disrupting railroad lines, will be considered an act of terrorism and the military will be brought in.
i have no link, or proof that this is true. but the sources that told me this are very reliable and trustwothy.. this is not good.
(...)

(...)
yep, American Indians... fighting terrorism since 1492...

The black boot of Big Brother has spoken.  I wonder what will happen?  There's a biblical proverb that says, "Oppression will make a wise one act crazy."  :( Very sad all around.  The squeezing of us all by Big Govt has only just begun.

I hope the Native Americans don't do anything that would cause them to be hurt by Big Govt/Military, as much as I'd love to see them stand up for their rights as sovereign nations inside the USA nation.

Passed through Yuma, AZ, Indian Reservation with friends once, way back around 1975-76, while driving from Colorado to Southern California.  What struck me deeply were all the men's stern (or stoic?) faces.  It was like they were "walking dead" with empty eyes, who had long ago had the soul sucked right out of them. :(  The second saddest thing was the poverty.  The third thing I noticed was that their complexions really were reddish, in a nice AZ suntanned kind of way.

Another comment from that same thread:

(...)
It took almost 3 months for Obama to approve a disaster declaration for the snowed-in Lakota reservations in South Dakota. Some were without power and propane the entire time. Pine Ridge has 80-90% unemployment, life expectancy 45 years, and 300 times the national average infant mortality.

In the meantime, Haiti got tens of millions of dollars.

One Internet tobacco retailer wrote re Obama signing the PACT Act:
(...)
We were also looking at an off shore operation. The USA is a signee of the Universal Postal Treaty, and it says a carton of cigarettes can be mailed into the USA one carton at a time. Which is valid, the PAC Act or the Postal Treaty? Currently, I do not know the answer.
(...)

Even if that was a legit workaround, it wouldn't help the Indians on the reservations.

Off-topic or not?  Re the (above link) same PACT Act subject, someone threw in this info:

(...)
Robert Wilton, a long time Russia correspondent for the London Times, said in his book "The Last Days of the Romanovs":

“According to the data furnished by the Soviet press, out of 556 important functionaries of the Bolshevik State there were in 1918-1919:

17 Russians,
2 Ukrainians,
11 Armenians,
35 Lets,
15 Germans,
1 Hungarian,
10 Georgians,
2 Poles,
2 Finns,
1 Karaim,
457 Jews....

"The Communist soul is the soul of Judaism. Hence it follows that, just as in the Russian revolution the triumph of Communism was the triumph of Judaism, so also in the triumph of fascism will triumph Judaism.” ("A Program for the Jews and Humanity," Rabbi Harry Waton, p. 143-144).

"The American Hebrew September 10, 1920: We have exterminated the property owners in Russia. We are going to do the same thing in Europe and America.” (The Jew, December 1925, Zinobit).

In the "Darwinian Racism" article posted about a week ago ( http://graceparadise.posterous.com/darwinian-racism-by-david-cloud ), it had a quote re Teddy Roosevelt & how he was all for the American Indians being wiped out...

(...)
"U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt, like many other Darwinists, 'maintained that a racial war to the finish with the [North American] Indians was inevitable and represented the culminating achievement of the spread of the English-speaking peoples over the world.' ” (Henry Morris, "The Long War Against God," pp. 70, 71)
(...)

What an arrogant creep.  As if continental America was not big enough for everybody, especially in those days.  Andrew Jackson butchered a lot of southern Indians, I forget which state... saw it on a PBS bio re AJ.

More interesting comments from the first thread (I did not stop to correct typos):

(...)
i know many people are against smoking, but those that do choose too.. i myself smoke.. and buy my cigs from the reservation and know personally many native americans.. they are good people and hard workers..the government has no business messing with them and breaking treaties that were signed in good faith..
(...)

I like this idea...

(...)
The Seneca Nation should build solar panels and windmills if they want this liberal govt to walk arm-in-arm with them. MaObama will be throwing them cash for that! This is kind of like Sales 101. Understand what your customers want and give it to them. MaObama wants taxes on what you make, but if you make what he wants there will only be a cash spigot opening for you. To put it in urban terminology, Help a Bruthuh out!
(...)

I guess he meant Mao-Obama.

(...)
..here in ny state the indian casinos give ny state a percentage of their profits..theres no problem with that, though is there..
(...)

(...)
the united states government has been breaking treaties with native americans since the day they were signed..
I read somewhere that the count of broken treaties is somewhere around 827. Those are just actual treaties, doesn't include all the broken verbal promises.
(...)

(...)
The line for the Native American posts (where they sell cigs) is unbelievable. Never seen so many cars. Great trade in the near future.
Folks, gold? Cigs and cigars will be WORTH more than that. You can barter and trade with them. Plus, it will help to keep away the WMDs (flu) by smoking (you don't think the gov't knows this??? wake up).
Incidentally, the Natives near the Canadian borders have kicked out all white people off the Reservation (aka concentration camps years ago). They know what will soon happen. Get prepared buy tobacco.
(...)

That's a new one on me that smoking helps prevent the flu(?)

(...)
"They will come" to the casinos in good locations. They will not come to casinos in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, a lot of reservations are in the middle of *** nowhere.
(...)

(...)
if you do a little thinking, it should be obvious that the pact act is one step closer for the government to control the internet.. thats because most of the sales are done thru the internet..
(...)

(...)
Now that they are going after the Reservations... who is next?  My prediction the Churches. Lots of land and assets. History always repeats itself due to our own carelessness.
(...)

(...)
the same thing in Quebec Canada... bill 59.. will impose heavy fines on the white people (who are tax to ***).. if they buy cigarettes on the rezs... the cigarette trade, has help out alot of poor people in Quebec too, who now have income (resellers) and more independent from the greedy Quebec goverment coffers.. and they (Quebec) don't like it one bit!!! so go after the natives again.. crush their cigarettes business .. why do you think Obama's first stop was Canada... to see how he could skew the Indians in the tobacco trade.. in Canada and the USA both!!!  $12.00 bag of tips (200) native or $80.00 a carton non-native! what would you buy??  (That's The Children of the British Empire at play) ... long live the Queen!!!
(...)

(...)
just like i said, it only costs big tobacco $3.00 *** dollars to make a carton of cigs.
(...)

(...)
did you notice there's not much about this on the main stream media about this passage of the pact act??
(...)

(...)
This is a ramp up to ban cigarrettes outright because of the new health care bill. They are going to tell you what you can and can't do with your body. They may even prohibit alcohol again.
(...)

The REPLY TO this next comment cracked me up...

(...)
"Face it Yanks, your entire country's built on territory stolen from the Native Americans. You still hate them for surviving the genocide, so you try to screw the survivors for everything they've got.
"Obama's just doing this because he knows he can get away with this. The Native Americans are basically at the bottom of the US social structure. Don't pretend you're "concerned" about them: you're just using them as a political tool to bash Obama. I doubt anyone on this thread really gives a *** about the natives."
if you say we stole it, its because we had to get away from your *** wig toting, powder faced, *** tyrannt king george. ... worry about your own countries problems.. your country treated the indians like *** too.. native americans are american citizens and are treated like horse ***.. Im ashamed of how some of americas forefathers lied and formed treaties, still to be broken till this day..
(...)

(...)
there are many brands of native cigs that are pure tobacco, no additives, no chemicals.. big tobacco on the other hand loads their cigs up with hundreds of proven carcinogenic chemicals.
(...)
..........vs. ..............

(
.
..)

tobacoo doesn't cause cancer but the additives do cause cancer , the reason the gov is attacking indian tobacco is because a huge amount of smokers are buying indian cigs because the indians sell tobacco without additives and is grown naturally natures way. The result is this tobacco doesnt kill you quick enough for the gov.  the whole fire safe ciggarettes are about killing people because they are using a glue which is used for carpets, not to metion the additives and pesticides. educate yourself, your gov is killing you anyways with your food and big pharma fluoride, ask your dentist how he disposes of replaced fillings and you got em in your big gob. do a bit of research.
(...)

(...)
Fact is, Congress has no authority to regulate anything produced or sold on sovereign territory. Fact is the United States Government subsidized the production and sale of tobacco for years, and created a lot of addicts in the process. By driving up prices with taxes and by leaning on the tobacco companies, they have created an industry that you can only enjoy their product by paying the government protection money. Does this not make them drug dealers? Is this not organized crime? When will the people in this USA wake up? When will we see the end to the erosion of our freedoms? Fact is, the PACT Act is totally un-American.

Finally,
here's the news article in full from the site at the top:

Seneca Nation of Indians Accuses President Barack Obama of Deliberately Betraying Native Americans by Signing the PACT Act

  1. That was my first attempt to send a full email to Blogger by sending it through Posterous first.

The good news is that the pictures showed up (which they haven't been showing up previously when posting by email from iPhone direct to blogger).

The bad news is that the full news article is cut off! Does blogger have a length limit for email posts? Or did Posterous cut it off before sending it through to Blogger? (Posterous is famous for chopping posts).

  2. Yes, Part 1 was cut off at Posterous, which means if they cut it off there, then it gets cut off here, too.
